Jump To Straight via "Tuck"
As you jump, think of stacking the hips above the wrists. You are not transitioning via a tuck, so the hips should not pass the shoulders. As soon as wrists, shoulders and hips are in line, extend the legs. Think of a small external rotation of the legs to keep the glute engaged as you jump and keep the core and legs engaged. It will help you hit the line.

Tuck Jump
Think Hips UP, not "Hips past the shoulders" Keep the scapula elevated and allow the hips to come slightly past the shoulders. Think "Knees to chest" to avoid the knees from flying away, which would likely make you fall. Stay compact.
